Somebody left this note on my car.

Somebody left this note on my car.

Ok, so I parked my car a couple of blocks away and then didn't move it for two weeks, not even for street cleaning (sometimes you just can't bring yourself to care
if you get "courtesy towed" or not) So then yesterday, after much back and forth with myself I finally worked up the courage to face all of my parking tickets and the possibility of my towed car and I went to check on it. It probably also helped that I was trying to procrastinate writing a very boring article I am supposed to have finished. When I arrived at my car, by some miracle, I had not received a single ticket and my car was still there. But there was this anonymous note on my windshield written on assignment pad paper. I curiously picked it up and was reading it when a man came out of a nearby house and asked me if I wanted to sell my car and I said no, thank you. Then 30 seconds later another man came out of the same house and asked me if I wanted to sell my car and I said thank you very much but no again. I don't know why I kept saying thank you, it was like I was flattered they wanted to buy my car or something? Then I felt kind of awkward to have just walked to the car to check on it but not really needing to drive it anywhere, so I felt the need to pretend to have to go somewhere so I got in the car and drove around the block. So then I parked on my own street. A few hours later I was hanging with M on the porch, still not having written my article, when he saw my car parked out front and he asked me how long I had a flat tire. And I was like, what?? Yes, in the three blocks that I drove my car for no real reason, I managed to get a flat tire. Then M and I had to spend the next few hours chasing down a cheap tire on Georgia Avenue (but that ridiculous saga is a whole other story for another time.) As for this story, I finally found a cheap tire and welcomed it into my life, but spent the next five hours wondering why those guys wanted to buy my car so much, I mean I personally have a great affection for it since we go so far back together, but I didn't think it was the type of car that stopped people on the street or attracted love notes or men coming out of the house to try and court it, And then I thought maybe those guys had some sort of used car business and they figured given the state of the economy everyone has a price and I'd sell my car?? but then i finally realized that the most likely possibility was that since i was parked in front of their house for two weeks and didnt move my car once that they figured i didnt want it and maybe they did. now i feel almost guilty as if my car would be happier with them than with me, but??? And they were so earnest about it too when they came out of the house and asked me that I have been racking my brain trying to think if I know anyone who is trying to sell a car because they seemed like the type of people who could really give a car a happy home. but as of yet, I have not been able to think of anyone so if you have a car you need to sell you should call this number on this note. As for the note, I am going to keep it forever. And as for the article, I still have not written it.

Large dolls throw away - One of the afternoon volunteers brought these she is in the process of moving out and deciding what to keep and what to get rid of she spent all morning sorting and bagging and labeling things things from her room then deciding what to do with each bag she wanted to fill her car with items to dispose of and after looking over everything decided this bag of dolls no longer had enough sentimental value to bring to her new home so she brought them to the park to be trasported to their new home in the landfill

I thought the coldness of the bag embodied how things once sentimental can become worthless junk these dolls once loved are placed in a plastic bag and with a flick of the wrist marked to be thrown away and from that point on they are just another piece of garbage to be disposed of
